11/11/2025 9:59:00 AM | Men's Basketball
MARTIN, Tenn. – A stretch of four consecutive road or neutral-site matchups for the University of Tennessee at Martin men's basketball team begins with a midweek contest against Bradley out of the Missouri Valley Conference. Tipoff on Wednesday, Nov. 12 is set for 7:30 p.m. on ESPN+.
This marks the fourth all-time meeting between these two squads and first in nearly 13 years. The Braves are one of three Skyhawk 2025-26 opponents who made the postseason a year ago as Bradley went 28-9 and reached the National Invitation Tournament (NIT) quarterfinals. UT Martin will also face 2025 NCAA Tournament participants Alabama State (Dec. 7) and SIUE (Jan. 15 and Feb. 14) this season.
The Skyhawks are flying high after starting the 2025-26 campaign with a 2-0 record for just the sixth time in the school's NCAA Division I Era (since 1992). In its first two games, UT Martin has forced its opponents into 47 turnovers and a 36.9 percent shooting effort, including a 25.5 percent clip from beyond the three-point arc in victories over UNLV and Kentucky Christian.
National attention has followed as the Skyhawks cracked the SB Nation Mid-Major Madness Top-25 poll on Monday. That same day, UT Martin swept the Ohio Valley Conference weekly awards for just the second time in school history (first since Feb. 18, 2008). Andrija Bukumirović claimed Player of the Week honors while Dragos Lungu (Newcomer of the Week) and Matas Deniusas (Freshman of the Week) also brought home some hardware from the league office.
The Braves (1-1) never trailed while throttling Central Michigan by an 85-54 margin in their home opener on Saturday, shooting 57.1 percent (16-for-28) in the second half. Jaquan Johnson exploded for a career-best 33 points on 11-of-16 shooting in just 25 minutes to lead Bradley. AJ Smith - who played at OVC member Southern Indiana for two seasons - contributed 18 points and four steals while Alex Huibregtse's 11 points rounded out the Braves' double-digit scorers.
