
UT Martin Wraps Up Road Trip At Morehead State

MOREHEAD, Ky. – The University of Tennessee at Martin rifle team completed its second match in as many days at Morehead State, battling but falling by a 4,675-4,631 margin to its Ohio Valley Conference rival.
The Skyhawks collected 2,332 points in air rifle and a season-best 2,299 points in smallbore today. The smallbore tally eclipsed its previous season-high score of 2,296 points, set just yesterday against the same Morehead State squad.
Sophia Ashford topped UT Martin in smallbore for the second straight day, firing a 578. She was followed by Joey Kovach (574), Olivia Harvey (career-best 572) and Aubrey Chenoweth (571) in the scoring lineup while Rachel Haines (career-high 569) also competed for the Skyhawks.
In air rifle, Ashford paced the squad with a strong 587-point performance. Kovach and Chenoweth each shot matching 583's while Harvey (career-high) and Liam Tegeler both compiled 579 points to conclude UT Martin's countable scores. Haines and Jeffrey Bourassa additionally generated 571 points apiece while competing as individuals.
The Skyhawks are back in action next week, hosting Alaska-Fairbanks at 9 a.m. on Sunday, Nov. 9.
