MEN'S BASKETBALL'S SATURDAY HOME GAME AGAINST NORTHERN KENTUCKY PUSHED UP TO NOON
MARTIN, Tenn. – The men’s basketball game between the University of Tennessee at Martin and Northern Kentucky University scheduled for Saturday, Dec. 7 will now be played at noon at the Kathleen and Tom Elam Center.
The game was originally scheduled to tip off at 4 p.m. but the time was pushed up because of inclement weather conditions.
On Wednesday, the Skyhawks pieced together an impressive 89-73 road victory at Samford. UT Martin did not trail at any point during the game, as it used a season-best 60.4 percent shooting performance and a season-high 20 assists to claim the win. Mike Liabo’s 16 points led six Skyhawks in double-figures in the scoring column, joining Terence Smith (13), Myles Taylor (13), Bobby Jones (11), Marshun Newell (10) and Dee Oldham (10).
In its second season at the Division-I level, Northern Kentucky has already faced a pair of OVC teams this season, falling to Morehead State (74-61) and Southeast Missouri (79-65). In their last game against Texas State on Nov. 30, the Norse fell behind early and couldn’t recover in a 70-61 loss. Tyler White’s 14 points led all scorers but Northern Kentucky allowed Texas State to shoot 68.8 percent from three-point range (11-for-16).
