SIX SKYHAWKS COMPETE ON WEDNESDAY AT COLLEGE NATIONAL FINALS RODEO

CASPER, Wyo. – Day Four of the 2013 College National Finals Rodeo continued on Wednesday evening, as six University of Tennessee at Martin members competed against the best the nation has to offer at the Casper Events Center.

For UT Martin, Tyler Waltz turned in an outstanding effort in bareback riding, chalking up 78 points for first place in the third go. Waltz’s scores have improved in each round so far in the CNFR (69 first go, 72 second go).

In tie-down roping, Jordan Thrasher posted a time of 11.1 in the third go. A pair of UT Martin tandems competed in team roping today, led by a 13.9 score out of Clay and Lane Mitchell in their third go. Ben Walker and Troy’s Zack Mabry also took part in team roping, posting a time of 15.5 in their third go.

On the women’s side, Mary Francis Gorsuch accounted for a score of 14.66 in her third go of barrel racing.

The third performance of the 2013 CNFR comes on Thursday, June 13th at 7 p.m. local time.
