FINAL ROUND OF OVC GOLF TOURNAMENT RAINED OUT; CABALLERO NAMED TO ALL-TOURNAMENT TEAM

DICKSON, Tenn. – The third and final round of the Ohio Valley Conference golf championships has been cancelled because of heavy rains in the area overnight and into the day Saturday.

Individually, sophomore Brendon Caballero was named to the seven-member OVC All-Tournament team. Caballero finished second out of 55 competitors with a score of 140 (-4), just one shot shy of medalist honors. Caballero, who was named to the All-OVC team on Thursday, was tied for the lead after Day 1 and led the tournament with 11 birdies.

Tyler Shellnut also earns a top-10 finish for UT Martin. The junior out of Franklin, Tenn. led the Skyhawks in the second round with a score of 70, bringing his two-day total to 143.

Ben Reeves (152), Graham Sleigh (162) and Tyler Guy (162) rounded out UT Martin’s tally for the tournament. The Skyhawks finished the tournament in 10th place with a two-round total of 597 (+21).
