The University of Tennessee at Martin Skyhawks softball team hits the road this weekend with two Ohio Valley Conference doubleheaders at Tennessee State and Belmont. First pitch of Saturday’s doubleheader at Tennessee State is set for 1 p.m. The Skyhawks will head across town Sunday for a twinbill Belmont with a noon start.

The Skyhawks (17-8, 1-1 OVC) head to Nashville after posting a dominating performance against Division II foe Trevecca Nazarene on Wednesday, notching a 6-1 victory. UTM posted ten hits while Casey Vincent (7-3, 2.21 ERA) tossed her eighth complete game of the season while allowing no earned runs and just four hits. Vincent struck out five and walked one in her seven innings of work.

Freshman Jessie Britt blasted a home run to right field as the Skyhawks scored in four different innings. Sophomore Kenzi Tate has continued her hot pace in the box, posting a .361 batting average, with five home runs and team-leading 23 RBIs. Leah Taylor leads the OVC with 23 stolen bases and ranks second on the team with her .352 batting average.

The Skyhawks split the OVC opening series last week at SIU Edwardsville dropping game one (8-6) before taking the second (7-4).
