FRESHMAN NAMED ADIDAS OHIO VALLEY CONFERENCE GOLFER OF THE WEEK
BRENTWOOD, Tenn. – Ben Reeves, a freshman golfer at The University of Tennessee at Martin was named the adidas Ohio Valley Conference Golfer of the Week. The announcement was made earlier this afternoon by the league office.
Reeves, from Knoxville, carded rounds of 68-73 to finish at 143 (-3) to capture medalist honors at the Frito Lay/Taco Bell Intercollegiate held at the Dancing Rabbit Golf Course in Philadelphia, Miss. He topped the field of 60 competitors by two shots (besting teammate Graham Sleigh who was second).
The performance helped UT Martin to the team championship in the field of 11 teams, as the Skyhawks topped second place Fairleigh Dickinson by an impressive 32 strokes. Reeves currently ranks ninth in the OVC in stroke average (73.3).
