MARTIN, Tenn. –
The University of Tennessee at Martin equestrian team remained in the National Collegiate Equestrian Association poll for the 10th consecutive week, coming in at No. 10 in today’s edition of the rankings presented by Farnam.

Despite the fact that they have not competed in over three months, the Skyhawks dropped one spot in the top-10 rankings. UT Martin initially cracked the top-10 poll on Oct. 10 and has risen as high as No. 8 on back-to-back weeks (Nov. 14 and Nov. 21).

Georgia came in at No. 1 in the newest NCEA poll and was followed by No. 2 Auburn, No. 3 Texas A&M, No. 4 SMU, No. 5 Oklahoma State, No. 6 Baylor, No. 7 TCU, No. 8 South Carolina and No. 9 South Dakota State.

The Skyhawks account for a 2-3 team record in 2017-18 with all five meets coming against nationally ranked opponents. In Hunt Seat, UT Martin has averaged a score of 74.8 in equitation on the flat to go along with a 76.7 average score in equitation over fences. The Skyhawks are responsible for average scores of 70.9 in horsemanship and 65.4 in reining in the Western discipline.

UT Martin will be back in action for the first time since Nov. 10 this weekend for a pair of home competitions. The Skyhawks host No. 7 TCU at 9 a.m. on Friday, Feb. 16 before taking on Ole Miss in an exhibition at 11 a.m. on Sunday, Feb. 18.
