Equestrian Camps


For Intermediate Riders Hunter Seat or Western
Date:   July 12-16, 2015      
Ages:  8 and up female riders

Participants will gain fundamental instruction on basic horsemanship skills regardless of their level of experience.  Students will participate in exercises that increase their skill sets as well as training technique for their specific mount o make them into a more effective rider.  Riders are encouraged to bring their own horse to camp, however, horses are available for $200 for the duration.  Educational sessions will include safety, grooming (banding, braiding, clipping) as well as show etiquette.  Additional, non-horse related activities are built in to develop lasting friendships with participants.  Participants will be housed in the UTM dorms and eat at cafeteria.

Date:  June 14-17 or June 21-24, 2015
Ages:  14-18
Registration Deadline:  June 9, 2015

Participants will get to experience a day in the life of a Skyhawk equestrian student-athlete.  The camp will include an opportunity to ride horses that the team uses for practices and competitions as well as instruction from the coaching staff.  Athletes will gain knowledge on what to expect as a student athlete and the requirements to be eligible per NCAA.  We will also explore the different formats available in collegiate equestrian.  Participants will be housed in the University of Tennessee of Martin dorms and familarity of becoming a student athlete.
