STATS FCS Poll             FCS Coaches Poll              Athlon Sports FCS Power Poll

MARTIN, Tenn. –
Fresh off back-to-back victories over ranked opponents, the University of Tennessee at Martin football program continues to rise in the weekly national polls after climbing to No. 18 in the STATS FCS Top 25 while cracking the FCS Coaches Poll for the first time this season at No. 21.

UT Martin is one of three Ohio Valley Conference schools ranked in both polls, joining Jacksonville State (No. 5 in both) and Tennessee State (No. 24 in both).  This marks the Skyhawks highest overall ranking since 2008 at No. 18 while serving as the program’s first time cracking the Coaches Poll since 2012. Additionally, the Skyhawks are tabbed 14th in the Athlon Sports FCS Power Poll.

The Skyhawks (3-1, 1-0 OVC) are coming off a dominating 31-16 home victory over No. 20 ranked Tennessee State in their last contest. With the victory, the Skyhawks accomplished a program first by notching wins over ranked opponents in consecutive weeks – joining a 21-7 road victory at No. 15 Chattanooga two weeks ago. As a team, the Skyhawks currently leads the OVC in scoring defense (17.0 ppg), rushing defense (63.2 ypg), opponent third down conversion percentage (27.1), opponent fourth down conversion percentage (14.3), time of possession (34:19), redzone defense percentage (54.5), turnover margin (+3) and sacks (nine).
