UT Martin coaches and student-athletes recently participated in a Fellowship of Christian Athletes (FCA) Sports Extravaganza event that brought approximately 130 attendees to the UT Martin campus.
The event was spearheaded by the Martin FCA Board of Directors. Each attendee interacted with UT Martin coaches and student-athletes in addition to receiving lunch, a FCA t-shirt and FCS Bible.
The campers interacted with UT Martin student-athletes from the baseball, men's basketball, women's basketball, football, golf, equestrian, rodeo, volleyball and cheerleading programs.
"This event is a great way for our athletes to interact with the area youth in a positive and fun environment," said Nick Glenn, area representative for the Northwest Tennessee Fellowship of Christian Athletes and UT Martin team chaplain. "The message of giving your all in your sport lines up with the message of Christ giving his all for us. This event is one that I look forward to with anticipation every year."
Since 1954, the Fellowship of Christian Athletes has challenged athletes and coaches to impact the world for Jesus Christ. FCA is cultivating Christian principles in local communities nationwide by encouraging, equipping and empowering others to serve as examples and to make a difference. Reaching over two million people annually on the professional, college, high school, junior high and youth levels, FCA has grown into the largest interdenominational sports ministry in the world. Through this shared passion for athletics and faith, lives are changed for current and future generations.
