LIVINGSTON, Ala. – The University of Tennessee at Martin tennis team extended its winning streak to three games with a 4-0 victory at West Alabama this afternoon.

The Skyhawks improved to 3-3 on the season thanks in large part to the strong play of Hitomi Naito and Asel Jumamukhambetova. Not only did that duo team up for their third consecutive win at No. 2 doubles (6-1), but they also claimed individual singles victories. Naito was responsible for a 6-2, 6-1 win at No. 2 while Jumamukhambetova supplied a 6-1, 6-1 triumph at No. 4.

Burcu Tari and Andrea Plantada Cortes also won their third straight doubles decision, securing a 6-2 win at No. 3. Sarah Candeloro and Jemima Potter also led by a 4-3 margin at No. 1 doubles but did not finish because UT Martin had already clinched the doubles point.

At No. 6 singles, Elina Geut captured a 6-3, 6-2 victory to help the Skyhawks notch the win. Candeloro (6-0, 5-4 at No. 1), Tari (6-4, 1-2 at No. 3) and Plantada Cortes (6-1, 4-4 at No. 5) were also in position to win their head-to-head matchups but did not finish.

UT Martin goes for its fourth win in a row when it travels to Pensacola, Fla. for a 1 p.m. matchup at West Florida.
