MARTIN, Tenn. - Two of the top teams in the Ohio Valley Conference West division collide when the University of Tennessee at Martin men’s basketball team visits the Murray State Racers at the CFSB Center on Saturday, Jan. 28. Tipoff is set for approximately 7 p.m.

A year after these two squads shared the OVC West championship, they find each other in a three-way tie with Southeast Missouri for the top spot in the division at the midway point of the conference season.

The Skyhawks (15-8, 5-3 OVC) enter the contest on a four-game winning streak, upping its OVC-best win total to 15. Since the start of the 2014-15 season, UT Martin owns the third-most road victories (25) in Division-I basketball, trailing only Monmouth (29) and Albany (26).

UT Martin is coming off a complete 85-79 road win at Austin Peay on Thursday. In that game, Jacolby Mobley dialed up 27 points in the first half on his way to a career-high 36 points, which marks the second-highest point total in school history in an OVC game. He joins two-time All-American Lester Hudson and two-time All-OVC honoree Michael Hart as the only players in UT Martin history to score at least 35 points in an OVC contest.

In addition, Javier Martinez (16 points, career-best 19 rebounds) amassed his fifth double-double of the season in the victory over Austin Peay. His 19 boards rank as the second-highest single game total in UT Martin’s Division-I history (since 1992).

Murray State (11-11, 5-3 OVC) lost its second straight OVC game on Thursday, falling by a narrow 75-74 margin to Southeast Missouri at home. Jonathan Stark racked up a game-high 24 points but the Racers could not protect a nine-point halftime advantage. Stark has won OVC Newcomer of the Week five times this season, as he ranks second in the league in points per game (21.1) and assists (5.4 per game).
