BRENTWOOD, Tenn. – University of Tennessee at Martin women’s basketball player Ansley Eubank has been named adidas Ohio Valley Conference Co-Freshman of the Week for her performances against Arkansas State and Missouri. The award is the first of Eubank’s career and fourth weekly honor for the Skyhawks this season.
Eubank proved to be a valuable piece in the Skyhawks’ success last week, picking up a home victory against Arkansas State on Wednesday before mounting a comeback attempt at Missouri on Saturday. For the week, Eubank averaged 9.0 points, 3.5 rebounds, 2.0 assists and a steal while shooting 50 percent from both the field and beyond the arc.
A native of Murfreesboro, Tenn., Eubank scored a career-high 11 points in the win against Arkansas State while tallying a pair of rebounds and two steals. She continued her strong utility role against Missouri - tallying seven points, five rebounds and three assists in the contest. Over the past two games, Eubank’s hot shooting has lifted her season field goal percentage by 10.7 points.
Eubank and the Skyhawks will return to action on Tuesday, Dec. 20 with a road contest at DePaul before capping off non-conference play against Big Ten foe Northwestern on Thursday, Dec. 22.
