The University of Tennessee at Martin women’s basketball team will wrap-up its three-game homestand when the squad welcomes in-state rival Chattanooga on Saturday, Dec. 3. Tipoff from the Kathleen and Tom Elam Center is scheduled for 6 p.m.

The Skyhawks (2-5) enter the contest after snapping a three-game losing streak against regional rival Southern Illinois on Tuesday evening. UT Martin came out victorious 76-68 in a contest which featured seven ties and eight lead changes.

The win saw three Skyhawks post or tie career highs against the Salukis, led by Myah Taylor with 25 points. Freshman Breanna Boggs also joined in the action, tallying career highs with 17 points and seven rebounds. Meanwhile it was reigning OVC Newcomer of the Week Ashton Feldhaus who notched yet another strong performance – tallying 14 points for the third straight game while dishing out nine assists.

The Skyhawks are coached by Kevin McMillan who is currently in his eighth season with a 144-88 record. McMillan ranks seventh on the OVC’s all-time wins leaderboard while posting a 72-16 record in the Elam Center. Chattanooga is coached by Jim Foster who has led the Mocs to an 85-22 record in his fourth season.

Chattanooga (3-6) enters the contest riding a four-game losing streak after facing a loaded non-conference schedule which has included No. 2 UConn, No. 5 Louisville, No. 19 Florida and No. 23 Indiana. The Mocs entered the season receiving votes in the Associated Press Top 25 while winning four consecutive Southern Conference championships along with advancing to the NCAA Tournament every year during the span.

The Mocs are led offensively by Queen Alford with 10.7 points per game while Jasmine Joyner averages nearly a double-double with 9.9 points, 9.9 rebounds per game. Joyner’s best game of her career came last season against UT Martin where she tallied 31 points, 15 rebounds and seven blocks.

Saturday’s contest marks the 13th meeting in series history with Chattanooga holding a 10-2 advantage. The Mocs knocked off the Skyhawks most recently with a 61-46 decision in McKenzie Arena on Nov. 28, 2015.
