MARTIN, Tenn. – The University of Tennessee at Martin head equestrian coach Meghan Corvin has announced the additions of Reiley Wilson, Sarah Martinage, Mia Bray and Samantha Hill to the 2014-15 Skyhawk hunter seat roster.
Wilson currently attends St. Francis High School in Traverse City, Mich. Training since the age of seven under Melissa Hirt at Northern Pines Farms in Maple City, Wilson placed consistently in junior medals and won the $1,000 Low Children’s Jumper Classic. She also finished third in the Low Children’s Jumper Classic on a catch ride at WEF in Wellington, Fla.
A native of Odessa, Fla., Martinage will join UT Martin out of Hillsborough High School. This past year, she ranked seventh overall at Marshall and Sterling Finals for High Children’s Jumpers. She was also selected to represent Florida in the Children’s Jumper Championships, finishing fifth. She participated in the Emerging Athletes Program with former Olympian Bernie Traurig, while also ranking seventh and ninth at the WEF in the 15-17 equitation division. She qualified for the NAL finals and was a regional/zone finalist in 2013 and placed third overall at the PCHA year-end awards in 2012. She has also been selected to participate at the College Preparatory Invitational in 2014.
Bray is a native of Indio, Calif. and attends La Quinta High School, where she helped start the school’s equestrian team during her freshman year. She has been overall champion or Children’s Hunter Classic champion 10 times over the past four years, while also winning round two of the HITS Hunter Prix and finishing third overall in 2011. She has numerous podium finishes in the 3’6” medals and has also qualified/competed in the CPHA Foundation Medal Finals in early 2013. This past year, she was also accepted into the USHJA Emerging Athletes with Joe Fargis out of over 200 applicants.
A San Diego, Calif. native, Hill has been a competitive horseback rider for the last 15 years, training under her mother Andrea Simpson. Hill is responsible for medal victories in the CPHA, WCE, ASPCA Maclay and USEF Hunter Seat. She boasts several career wins in the Junior Hunters and Children’s Hunters competitions as well.
