MARTIN, Tenn. – Tony Bell, a junior linebacker on the University of Tennessee at Martin football team, has been hailed by College Sporting News and Beyond Sports Network for his performance in last Saturday’s 45-17 win over Murray State.
College Sporting News tabbed Bell as one of its five National All-Stars, while Beyond Sports Network named Bell one of its five National Defensive Players of the Week.
Earlier this week, College Football Performance Awards awarded Bell a National Defensive Performer of the Week and National Linebacker Performer of the Week honor, while the Sports Network tabbed Bell with its National Defensive Player of the Week accolade.
A 6-1, 200-pound native of Memphis, Tenn., Bell tied an OVC single-game record with 4.5 sacks amongst his career-high 16 tackles against Murray State.
