MARTIN, Tenn. – For the second straight season, the University of Tennessee at Martin women’s soccer team will look to cap off its season with an Ohio Valley Conference championship in a winner-take-all match against Southeast Missouri on Friday, Nov. 1. Action from Skyhawk Field is slated for 7 p.m. with Senior Day festivities to take place prior to the match.

The Skyhawks (9-8-1, 7-2 OVC) will look to make OVC history with a win on Friday, becoming the first team in conference soccer history to win four consecutive titles (2011 OVC Tournament, 2012 Season and Tournament). Along with the victory, the Skyhawks would play host to next week’s OVC Tournament to be played Nov. 7-10.

UT Martin earned a weekend split this past weekend, defeating Eastern Illinois, 2-0, before falling to SIUE, 1-0, on Sunday. Dominika Conc and Alyssa Curtis each tallied goals against Eastern Illinois.

Offensively, senior Abi Sanvee and freshman Ellie Myrick are tied for the team points lead with nine points each. Sanvee and Curtis pace the team with four goals each. Myrick joins Aoife Lennon and Conc with three goals while Myrick’s three assists lead the team.

UT Martin turns to junior Mariah Klenke in goal, posting six shutouts on the year. Klenke leads the team with 1392:36 minutes in goal while posting a 1.03 goals against average and tallying 82 saves.

Southeast Missouri (8-5-3, 6-1-2 OVC) picked up a pair of wins last week, knocking off SIUE, 1-0, and Eastern Illinois, 4-0 to extend their season-long four-game win streak. Kasey Crowden recorded a pair of goals in the win over Eastern Illinois, leading the Redhawks in goals and points over the weekend.

The Redhawks turn to senior goalkeeper Ashton Aubuchon who recently broke the school’s career saves record in the win over SIUE. Aubuchon has posted a 7-5-3 record while tallying seven shutouts on the year, notching 81 saves.

UT Martin is 4-10-4 against Southeast Missouri all-time but has seen recent success in the matchup. The two teams tied in a midseason showdown last season before the Skyhawks eliminated the Redhawks 1-0 in the OVC Tournament semifinals.
