MARTIN, Tenn. – The University of Tennessee at Martin golf team will host a two-day, 16-team Skyhawk Fall Classic at Paris Landing State Park in Buchanan, Tenn. on Oct. 7-8.
The Skyhawks will enter two teams in the tournament, as will fellow Ohio Valley Conference member Murray State. Also competing in the tournament field are Alabama State, Austin Peay, Bethel, Christian Brothers, Dalton State, IPFW, Jackson State, John A. Logan, Lee, Southern Illinois, Tennessee State and Union.
This will be the fourth tournament for UT Martin this fall, as the Skyhawks have already carded a pair of top-five finishes. UT Martin emerged victorious in the season-opening Wasioto Winds Fall Kickoff Invitational hosted by Morehead State.
A practice round for the tournament is set for Sunday, Oct. 6. The 54-hole stroke play tournament will begin with a pair of rounds at 8 a.m. on Monday, Oct. 7, followed by the final round on Tuesday, Oct. 8. One of the signature courses of the Tennessee State Park system, the Paris Landing par-72 course plays at 6,685 yards and is part of the Tennessee Golf Trail. The course is located just off US Highway 79.
