IOWA CITY, Iowa – Making its third straight NCAA Tournament appearance, The University of Tennessee at Martin women’s basketball team has reached its destination in the Hawkeye State on the verge of its first round matchup with Notre Dame on Sunday, March 24.
The Ohio Valley Conference Tournament champion Skyhawks flew out of Barkley Regional Airport in Paducah, Ky. this morning, leaving at 8:15 a.m. The team touched down at the Eastern Iowa Airport in Cedar Rapids at 9:15 a.m. and is currently settled in at the team hotel headquarters.
UT Martin held a light practice today at 2 p.m. and will take part in official NCAA Tournament protocol tomorrow. Head coach Kevin McMillan will hold a press conference from 12:30 to 1 p.m., followed by a Skyhawk practice at Carver-Hawkeye Arena from 1:10 to 2:40 p.m.
The Skyhawks will then make final preparations before battling the Fighting Irish at 4:05 p.m. on Sunday. The game can be seen exclusively on ESPN2.
