MARTIN, Tenn. - The University of Tennessee at Martin men’s basketball team looks to stay in the hunt for an Ohio Valley Conference Tournament berth when it travels across the state to take on the Tennessee Tech Golden Eagles on Thursday, Feb. 21. Tip-off time from the Eblen Center is scheduled for 7 p.m.

With three league games remaining, only percentage points separate UT Martin from a spot in the eight-team tournament field. With a win on Thursday, the Skyhawks can jump into third place in the OVC West standings and seventh overall.

Dating back to 2004, six of the seven contests between these two teams in the Eblen Center have been decided by single-digits, four of which have been decided by four points or less. The last time these two squads met in Cookeville (Jan. 13, 2011), the game featured 18 lead changes and 17 ties on the way to a wild 109-105 Golden Eagle win in a triple overtime thriller.

Tennessee Tech is coming off a 65-63 loss at Morehead State last Saturday. In that game, the Golden Eagles shot 63.2 percent in the second half but could not erase a three-point halftime deficit. Jud Dillard posted game-highs of 14 points and 11 rebounds while Jeremiah Samarrippas also added 14 points for Tennessee Tech, who enter the game one game out of an OVC tournament spot.
