MARTIN, Tenn. - The University of Tennessee at Martin men’s basketball team begins a four-game Ohio Valley Conference homestand when it plays host to the Eastern Kentucky Colonels on Thursday, Jan. 31 at the Kathleen and Tom Elam Center. Tip-off is scheduled for 7 p.m.

The Skyhawks (5-16, 2-7 OVC) are coming off a big 65-62 road victory at SIU Edwardsville last Saturday. In that game, UT Martin only trailed for a total of 28 seconds while outrebounding the Cougars by a 35-28 margin. Mike Liabo tallied 16 points, Jeremy Washington added a season-high 15 points and Myles Taylor racked up his fifth double-double of the season (12 points, career-high 14 rebounds).

The last time UT Martin and Eastern Kentucky met, the two squads produced a nailbiter in Richmond. In a game that featured 16 lead changes and 12 ties, the Colonels escaped with a 86-78 double overtime victory.

Eastern Kentucky (16-5, 6-2 OVC) is coming off an 85-74 home loss to Belmont last Saturday. Corey Wilford chalked up a game-high 24 points, while Mike DiNunno (15 points) and Marcus Lewis (11) also reached double-figures in the scoring column for the Colonels, whose only two league losses have come to OVC East leader Belmont.
