MARTIN, Tenn. – Quentin Sims, a senior wide receiver at The University of Tennessee at Martin, has been named one of the 50 best student-athletes in the NCAA Football Championship Subdivision. Sims was named to the College Sporting News 2012 Fabulous Fifty All-America team.
Sims helped the Skyhawks win a share of the Sgt. York Challenge Trophy and finish the season with an 8-3 won-loss record.
The Cincinnati native made 86 catches for 1,092 yards and 16 touchdowns this season. The 16 touchdowns in one year is a new OVC record.
He was also an All-Ohio Valley Conference first-team selection and a Football Championship Subdivision (FCS) third team All-America honoree. He recently played for the Stripes team in the Raycom All-Star Classic in Montgomery, Ala.
