Fans who cannot make The University of Tennessee at Martin women’s basketball game against the Missouri Tigers can catch the game live on the Fox Sports Midwest channel. The game is scheduled for Monday, Dec. 3 at 7 p.m. from Mizzou Arena.
Fox Sports Midwest will air the Skyhawk game live on Monday evening. The game can be found on Channel 418 for DISH Network subscribers and Channel 671 on DirecTV. Martin-area Charter subscribers can catch the game on Channel 305.
The matchup will mark the third meeting between the two teams and the second time in three years. In the December 7, 2010 matchup in Columbia the Skyhawks fell to the Tigers 53-30.
The Skyhawks (3-5) are coming off a 72-48 win over Central Arkansas. UT Martin took the lead at the 17:45 mark of the first half and never looked back cruising to the 24-point victory. Guards Heather Butler (20.6 ppg) and Jasmine Newsome (20.1 ppg) rank No. 1 and 2 in the Ohio Valley Conference in scoring and combined to score 326 (59%) of the Skyhawks 551 points on the season.
Newsome led all scorers with 25 points, including moving up to seventh on the UTM all-time scoring list, and five steals on the evening while Butler added 11 points, tying a career-high eight assists, four rebounds and three steals in the game, while junior Megan White provided a career-high 13 points in the victory.
The Missouri Tigers (5-2) opened the season with four straight wins before dropping back-to-back results. The Tigers got back on track dropping OVC member Southeast Missouri 80-51 this past Friday. Missouri had four players reach double digits including a game-high 26 points from Sydney Crafton. The Tigers lead the Southeastern Conference with 59 three-point field goals made this season.
Missouri is led by senior Sydney Crafton, averaging 13.9 points per contest to go with 5.6 rebounds per game. Freshman Lianna Doty leads the SEC with 37 (5.3 apg) assists this season, and also ranks 10th on the league’s steals list this season with 16, all while chipping in 9.3 points per contest.
