MARTIN, Tenn. – Jeremy Butler, a 6-3, 205 pound junior wide receiver from Bradenton, Fla., has been named the adidas Ohio Valley Conference Newcomer of the Week.
Butler, the transfer from College of Sequoias Community College, had 13 catches for 142 yards and two touchdowns in UT Martin’s 45-44 overtime loss at Tennessee Tech on Saturday. He caught a six-yard touchdown early in the third quarter and a 19-yard touchdown on 4th and 16 in overtime to pull the Skyhawks to within a point (the team would miss the ensuing PAT).
Over his past four games Butler has 35 catches for 438 yards and seven touchdowns. It marks the second time this season he has been named OVC Newcomer of the Week.
