October 30, 2012

MARTIN, Tenn. – Abi Sanvee, a 5-4 junior forward on The University of Tennessee at Martin soccer team, was named the adidas Ohio Valley Conference Offensive Player of the Week today.

Sanvee recorded the fifth hat trick in school history in Sunday’s 6-0 victory over Tennessee Tech, helping UT Martin to its first-ever outright league championship. She became just the fourth player in Skyhawk history to score three goals in a single match and first since Katie Jackson accomplished the feat in 2005.

The Bartlett native found the back of the net on her only three shot attempts of the match, tallying goals in the ninth, 16th and 67th minutes. The performance left Sanvee with seven goals on the season (second on the team) and 13 career goals, which ranks sixth in UT Martin soccer history.

Sanvee, who ranks fifth in goals amongst active OVC players, leads the Skyhawks with a .269 shot percentage (seven goals on 26 shot attempts). For her career, she boasts a .228 shot percentage in 57 shots.
