MARTIN, Tenn. – Senior wide receiver Quentin Sims was named to Phil Steele’s 2012 Preseason All-American team, while The University of Tennessee at Martin was ranked 38th in Steele’s Football Championship Subdivision (FCS) Preseason Top 40.
Sims, who transferred to UT Martin from Georgia Tech, played and started in all 11 games this past season. He was named to the Ohio Valley Conference All-Newcomer team. He caught 54 passes for 712 yards and recorded 10 touchdowns. He averaged 13.2 yards per catch and had a season-best 11 receptions for 144 yards and a touchdown at Tennessee State.
Sims was ranked 46th in the nation in receiving with 4.9 receptions per game.
