FIVE CONTESTANTS UP TONIGHT IN COLLEGE NATIONAL FINALS RODEO

June 15, 2012

MARTIN, Tenn. – Junior Jordan Thrasher and senior Heather Moore are not up in tonight’s College Rodeo National Finals in Casper, Wyo., but you can bet the two University of Tennessee at Martin contestants will be sitting in the front row giving their undivided attention to their respective events, the tie down roping and the barrel racing.

While Thrasher and Moore sit and battle the mental game, UT Martin contestants Clark Adcock, Ben Walker and Dacia Horne are out in tonight’s performance. Adcock, a freshman from Smithville, will work the tie down roping and the team roping along with Walker, a sophomore from Sparta. Horne, a freshman from Lebanon, will work the barrel racing.

All five UT Martin contestants are seeking berths among the top 12 and a chance to compete in Saturday night’s championship short round. Thrasher is currently in eighth place after three rounds in the tie down roping. The Culleoka cowboy went 10 seconds in the first round, 10.7 in the second go and 15.1 in the third go. Thrasher will have to wait and see if his times can hold up tonight.

Moore is in a similar situation. She is currently ninth in the barrel racing. All three of her runs were fast then 15 seconds. Her best time was 14.25 in the second round.

Horne must have an exceptional run tonight to jump into the top 12 in the barrel racing. The same holds true for Adcock and Walker in the team roping.

The championship finals of the 64th annual CNFR is set for Saturday, June 16.
