MARTIN, Tenn. –
University of Tennessee at Martin freshman Noel Meadows has earned United Equestrian Conference Reining Rider of the Month honors for November, the association announced today.

Meadows is only the seventh Skyhawk to ever win a UEC Rider of the Month accolade and is the third UT Martin representative to claim the honor this season (joining Abbie Hopkins and Tess Baumann).

A Staunton, Va. native, Meadows posted a pair of victories in the Masterson Farms Invitational Hosted by UT Martin on Nov. 9-10. She helped the Skyhawks defeat No. 5 Fresno State by an 11-5 margin before narrowly falling by an 8-7 margin to current No. 2 SMU.

Meadows started the Masterson Farms Invitational with a 68.5-point effort against Fresno State, securing MOP honors on her way to winning by four full points over her head-to-head competitor. The following day, she edged out SMU’s Keagan Snively with a score of 69.5 in the Skyhawks’ near-upset of the Mustangs.

On the season, Meadows carries a team-best 69.1 average in reining, tallying team points in three consecutive competitions (at No. 10 Delaware State, against No. 5 Fresno State, against No. 4 SMU).

Meadows has been an integral part of a UT Martin squad that is currently ranked No. 8 in the nation. The Skyhawks concluded the fall season with an appearance in the NCEA rankings in seven straight weeks dating back to Oct. 10.
