MARTIN, Tenn. – The University of Tennessee at Martin men’s basketball team will look to get back in the win column as it hosts the UMKC Kangaroos for a Sunday, Nov. 26 showdown at the Kathleen and Tom Elam Center. The game, which serves as the backend of a women’s and men’s basketball doubleheader, is scheduled to tip off at 4 p.m.

The Skyhawks (1-4) are putting a nine-game home winning streak on the line, winning by an average of 10.2 points per outing over that stretch. This is the second-longest home winning streak in the program’s Division-I history (since 1992) and is tied with Duke, Illinois, Minnesota and Towson for the 20th-longest active home win streak in the nation.

UT Martin is coming off a 69-66 road loss at Southern on Wednesday. Fatodd Lewis increased his scoring output for the fifth consecutive game to start the season, tossing in a career-best 25 points in addition to a game-high seven rebounds. Lewis was joined in double figures in the scoring column by Matthew Butler (16 points) and Terrence Parker (10 points) as the Skyhawks led by six points with 8:08 remaining but could not convert a field goal the rest of the way.

This is the fourth time in the last five years that UT Martin and the Kangaroos clash on the hardwood. Last season in Kansas City, the Skyhawks claimed a 77-66 victory thanks to a commanding 50-16 edge in points in the paint. Kahari Beaufort collected 11 points and a career-high seven rebounds off the bench for UT Martin.

Sunday’s matchup will be the fourth game this week for UMKC (2-5) as the Kangaroos recently took part in the Gulf Coast Showcase in Estero, Fla. UMKC defeated Manhattan by a 74-63 margin on Monday before falling in tight decisions to Georgia Southern (78-75 on Tuesday) and Penn (68-65 on Wednesday).

Broderick Robinson averaged 19.3 points per game on 55.2 percent shooting in the tournament for the Kangaroos, who rank in the top-10 in the nation in free throws made (120, fifth), three-pointers made (62, eighth) and steals (55, ninth).
