CONNOR AUBE SELECTED AS BASEBALL AMERICA PRESEASON OVC FRESHMAN OF THE YEAR

MARTIN, Tenn. – The University of Tennessee at Martin outfielder Connor Aube has been named Baseball America’s 2017 Preseason Ohio Valley Conference Freshman of the Year.
The Falmouth, Maine native was selected as last year’s USA Today “Player of the Year” in the state of Maine and earned all-state honors in each of his last two seasons at Falmouth High School. Aube was also selected as a member of the 2016 Under Armour Preseason All-American team and was one of only two Maine natives that made the list of top 400 high school baseball players in America.
The right-handed slugger complied a .516 average with eight home runs, 26 RBI’s, 33 runs scored and 14 stolen bases his senior season helping the Yachtsmen post a 19-1 overall record en route to a Western Maine Conference championship and an appearance in the Class A state championship game.
Aube and the Skyhawks open up the 2017 season next Friday, Feb. 17-19 as they host Buffalo for a three-game series.
