MARTIN, Tenn. - The University of Tennessee at Martin men’s basketball will look to extend its winning streak to four games when it travels to Austin Peay in a rematch of the 2016 Ohio Valley Conference championship game. Tipoff on Thursday, Jan. 26 is set for 8 p.m. from the Winfield Dunn Center.

The Skyhawks (14-8, 4-3 OVC) have won the last four regular season matchups against the Governors before then-No. 8 seed Austin Peay completed its Cinderella run to the OVC Tournament crown last March with an 83-73 upset win against No. 2 seed UT Martin. In last season’s victory at the Dunn Center, Jacolby Mobley knocked down a pull-up 22-foot three-pointer at the overtime buzzer to cap off a dramatic 85-84 win for the Skyhawks in a game where they trailed by 17 points in the second half.

UT Martin comes into the nationally televised contest with the most overall victories (14) in the OVC after reeling off three consecutive wins. Mobley has tossed in 23.7 points per game while sinking 50 percent (13-of-26) of his three-point attempts during the current winning streak while the Skyhawks have limited the opposition to 28 percent shooting (21-of-75) from three-point land in that span.

This game features two of the NCAA’s most relied upon point guards, as UT Martin’s Matthew Butler entered the week leading the nation in minutes played (795) and Austin Peay’s Josh Robinson ranked second with 782 minutes.

Robinson has averaged 18.0 points per outing in five career games against the Skyhawks. The junior leads the OVC with 21.9 points per game and entered the week ranking seventh in the nation in total points (460).

The Governors (7-14, 3-4 OVC) have snapped an 11-game losing skid by winning three of their last four decisions, including an 84-81 overtime win over OVC West leader Murray State on Saturday. Robinson and John Murry scored 22 points apiece while Jared Savage (14 points, 10 rebounds) and Kenny Jones (11 points, 11 rebounds) each secured double-doubles for Austin Peay.

Jason Horowitz (play-by-play) and Tim Doyle (color) will provide the television commentary on CBS Sports Network, which can be found on Channel 158 on DISH Network or Channel 221 on DirecTV. The game will be aired locally on Star 95.1 FM or online at the link above. Live stats will be available by accessing the link found at the top of the webpage.
