BRENTWOOD, Tenn. - The University of Tennessee at Martin's home football game against Eastern Kentucky on Saturday, Sept. 20 will be the first of eight Ohio Valley Conference "Game of the Week" productions which will be carried exclusively on ESPN3 this fall. Kickoff from Hardy Graham Stadium is set for noon.
The league announced the package yesterday and announced the details of the first two games this afternoon. This marks the second straight season the league has produced the "Game of the Week" package in conjunction with WebStream Sports, an Indianapolis-based company founded in 2006 which produces more than 1,000 events annually and has also served as a web streaming consultant for the OVC for the last two years.
The Skyhawks defeated Eastern Kentucky by a 16-7 margin on the road in 2013. The stingy UT Martin defense held the Colonels to just 225 yards of total offense while forcing three turnovers. Offensively, Abou Toure tallied a game-high 111 rushing yards on 17 carries while Jackson Redditt converted field goals from 38, 51 and 45 yards out to carry the Skyhawks to their first-ever win in 12 tries at Roy Kidd Stadium in Richmond.
The remaining six games of the OVC's ESPN3 package will be announced throughout this week. The OVC Football Game of the Week package is part of an overall five-year agreement with ESPN, which was announced last October. The deal runs through the completion of the 2017-18 season.
