UT MARTIN'S 46th ANNUAL SPRING COLLEGE RODEO SET FOR THIS WEEKEND

MARTIN, Tenn. – The University of Tennessee at Martin proudly hosts the 46th annual spring college rodeo starting on Thursday, April 10 and going through Saturday, April 12 at the Ned Ray McWherter Agricultural Complex and NW (Doc) Robinson Arena.
Action starts at 7:30 p.m. on all three dates. Tickets are $10 for adults and $7 for children and UT Martin students. Ages 5 and under are free with a paid adult. An $18 weekend pass is also available for all three nights.
Saturday’s event can be viewed online, free of charge courtesy of the Ohio Valley Conference Digital Network at the link above. Action from all three nights can also be heard locally on WCMT 101.3 FM, with Chris Brinkley and David Brewer providing the analysis.
The UT Martin rodeo has been named the Ozark Region “Rodeo of the Year” for eight consecutive years. The event serves as a platform for the upcoming College National Finals Rodeo, which will be held in Casper, Wyo. on June 15-21.
Along with UT Martin, teams from the University of Arkansas-Monticello, Cossatot Community College, East Mississippi Community College, Missouri Valley College, Murray State University, Northwest Mississippi Community College, Southern Arkansas University, Three Rivers College, Troy University and University of West Alabama will take part in the festivities.
The UT Martin men’s team currently leads the Ozark Region and enters the weekend ranked No. 2 nationally with 5,885 points. The UT Martin women’s squad currently ranks sixth in the Ozark Region with 1,080 points.
Thursday night is Tyson, Obion County Complex Performance night. Timed events and rough stock events – including bull riding – will be featured while fans can enter a drawing for a chance to win an MTD riding lawnmower.
Friday is Tennessee Tractor, LLC Performance night. Timed events and rough stock events (including bull riding) will be featured. A second drawing for an MTD riding lawnmower will take place while Friday also serves as “Tough Enough to Wear Pink” night to raise money for breast cancer awareness.
Saturday is Martin Paving Company Championship Finals, where the top-10 Ozark Region NIRA contestants will compete in a battle of the best of the best. Edward Jones Investments is also holding a free barbecue lunch at 11 a.m., followed by a scholarship auction at 12:30 p.m. All proceeds will go to the UT Martin Rodeo Scholarship Fund.
