MARTIN, Tenn. – It was recently announced at the NCAA Rifle Championships that 11 members of the University of Tennessee at Martin rifle squad had earned Collegiate Rifle Coaches Association (CRCA) Academic All-American status.

All in all, exactly 150 collegiate rifle student-athletes from 26 different institutions received the award. Only the University of Nevada, Reno had more recipients (12) than UT Martin.

“This is a remarkable accomplishment,” Skyhawk head coach Bob Beard said. “To have the second-most academic All-Americans in the nation, send two of our student-athletes to the NCAA championships and earn the Ohio Valley Conference team sportsmanship award says a lot about the character of our young men and women.”

Nominees must be a full-time student with at least a 3.20 cumulative Grade Point Average while earning a varsity letter during the season. The 11 UT Martin recipients include Katrina Klaes (4.0 GPA), Jessica Cobb (3.86), Joe Barefoot (3.84), Dacotah Faught (3.82), Sean O’Brien (3.73), Dana Maurizio (3.62), Jamie Arnett (3.59), Logan Hunt (3.57), Kelly James (3.47), Jordan Jensen (3.46) and Nikki Kroll (3.20).
