MARTIN, Tenn. – For the fourth time since the conclusion of the University of Tennessee at Martin’s 2013 football season, Jeremy Butler has been named an All-American. Earlier this morning, College Sporting News named the 6-2, 208-pound wide receiver to its 2013 Fabulous Fifty Football Championship Subdivision All-American Team.

Butler was one of eight Ohio Valley Conference players and one of four wide receivers to make the list of the top 50 football players in the FCS ranks.

Today’s announcement continues an impressive week for Butler as he trains for a professional career. Last Saturday, he helped lead the American team to a 20-3 win in the inaugural Medal of Honor Bowl played in Charleston, SC. The Bradenton, Fla. native caught two passes for a game-high 77 yards, including a 61-yard reception that ranked as the longest catch of the day.

This past season, Butler ranked sixth in the FCS with 1,203 receiving yards while ranking seventh with 90 receptions. Both of those marks set new UT Martin single-season records.

Butler is UT Martin’s career leader in 100-yard receiving games (eight) and ranks second in touchdown receptions (20), third in receptions (141) and fifth in receiving yards (1,953) – setting all of those marks in only 22 career games. He is also just the second player in Skyhawk program history to register back-to-back seasons with double-digit touchdown catches (10 in both 2012 and 2013).
