MARTIN, Tenn. – College Football Performance Awards has tabbed University of Tennessee at Martin’s James Satterfield as its Week 9 National Punter of the Week, the website announced on Sunday evening. CFPA also named Skyhawk senior Jeremy Butler to its Week 9 honorable mention wide receiver list.
A 6-1, 171-pound redshirt junior out of Gallatin, Tenn., Satterfield shares the CFPA national award with Eastern Kentucky’s Jordan Berry and Delaware’s Eric Enderson.
Satterfield booted three punts for 158 yards (52.7 average) in UT Martin’s 38-14 road win at Ohio Valley Conference rival Austin Peay last Saturday. Two of his punts backed the Governors inside their own 20-yard line, including a season-long 58 yard punt in the third quarter. He also accounted for a 55-yard punt that pinned Austin Peay at its own 3-yard line in the fourth quarter.
On the season, the Preseason All-American Satterfield has punted 36 times for 1,544 yards (42.9 average). He is responsible for six 50-plus yard punts and 17 punts inside the opponents’ 20-yard line.
A 6-3, 205-pound senior from Bradenton, Fla., Butler was one of 17 Football Championship Subdivision wide receivers to earn a spot on the CFPA list.
Butler racked up season-highs with 11 receptions and 171 receiving yards at Austin Peay, finding the endzone on two separate occasions. It was his third 100-plus yard receiving game of the season and second multi-touchdown game of 2013, as he has now hauled in six touchdown passes in his last four games.
The Skyhawks return home this Saturday, Nov. 2 when they take on OVC foe Murray State. Kickoff from Hardy Graham Stadium is set for 1 p.m.
