MARTIN, Tenn. - The University of Tennessee at Martin baseball squad closes out its Ohio Valley Conference home schedule with a three-game series against the Austin Peay Governors this weekend at Skyhawk Field. First pitch times are set for 6 p.m. on Friday, May 10, 4 p.m. on Saturday, May 11 and 1 p.m. on Sunday, May 12.

Sunday’s game is scheduled to be streamed online, free of charge on the OVC Digital Network. That link - as well as links for live stats and Austin Peay's radio broadcast are available at the top of the page.

Before the series finale on Sunday, the UT Martin coaching staff will recognize the career contributions of 10 players as part of Senior Day festivities. Isaac Armstrong, Kyle Bargery, Grant Glasser, Matt Haynes, Byron Johann, Trevor Lundgrin, Hagen Nelson, Jordan Stokes, Dan Tobik and Nick Wilson have combined for 145 pitching appearances, 320.2 innings pitched, 276 hits and 117 RBI’s in their careers.

The last time these two teams met in Martin was one of the most memorable games in recent memory. In the 2011 regular season finale, UT Martin faced a must-win situation against the Governors in order to qualify for the OVC Tournament. The Skyhawks clawed back from a 5-0 deficit after six innings of play to chalk up a 7-6 victory, punching their ticket to the postseason.

The Skyhawk offense has been led lately by Nelson, who has hit safely in nine of his last 11 games for a .324 average in that span. He is coming off back-to-back multi-hit games at the plate.

This weekend, UT Martin (10-34, 3-21 OVC) will go with senior right-hander Dan Tobik (1-6, 6.75 ERA) in Game 1, followed by sophomore southpaws Taylor Cox (0-5, 5.94) and Dalton Potts (4-5, 5.96) in Games 2 and 3, respectively. Tobik ranks third in the OVC in strikeouts per nine innings (9.69).

The two-time defending OVC champions, the Austin Peay (35-13, 16-7 OVC) offense is led by Craig Massoni, who ranks second in the league in batting average (.372), slugging percentage (.612), on-base percentage (.461) and RBI’s (53).

Zach Hall (5-2, 5.72 ERA), Casey Delgado (6-2, 4.94) and Ryan Quick (4-2, 6.81) are listed as the Governors’ probable starting pitchers. That trio will try to keep a lead for closer Tyler Rogers (1.85 ERA), who leads the nation with 19 saves and ranks second in the OVC with seven victories.
