MEN'S BASKETBALL TEAM PAYS VISIT TO OVC WEST RIVAL SIU EDWARDSVILLE ON SATURDAY

MARTIN, Tenn. - The University of Tennessee at Martin men’s basketball team rounds out its two-game road swing in Illinois when it battles Ohio Valley Conference West foe SIU Edwardsville at the Vadalabene Center. Tip-off on Saturday, Jan. 26 is scheduled for 7 p.m.
The Skyhawks (4-16, 1-7 OVC) have won two of the three contests against SIU Edwardsville since the Cougars joined the OVC in 2008, although the Cougars did claim a narrow 69-65 victory in Martin last season. The last time UT Martin played in Edwardsville, the Skyhawks lit up the scoreboard for 46 second-half points on their way to a 78-69 victory on Jan. 24, 2011.
SIU Edwardsville (7-10, 3-4 OVC) is coming off its third win in the past four games - an 80-77 home triumph over Southeast Missouri on Thursday night. The Cougars used a 26-4 run early in the second half to overcome a four-point halftime deficit.
Mark Yelovich tallied a season-high 24 points to lead SIU Edwardsville, who shot 51.9 percent from the field and 63.6 percent from three-point range. Jerome Jones (19 points), Michael Messer (13) and Kris Davis (12) also reached double-figures in the scoring column for the Cougars.
