MARTIN, Tenn. - The University of Tennessee at Martin men’s basketball team heads to Eastern Illinois for an Ohio Valley Conference West division showdown at Lantz Arena. Tip-off on Thursday, Jan. 24 is scheduled for 7 p.m.

The all-time series between these two teams is knotted up at 17-all. The last time these two teams met was in Martin on Feb. 11, 2012, with Eastern Illinois claiming a narrow 74-71 victory. In that game, Myles Taylor piled up 24 points and 11 rebounds to help UT Martin (4-15, 1-6 OVC) outrebound the Panthers by a 39-31 margin, but Eastern Illinois held on for the victory by making three of four free throws in the final 15 seconds.

Eastern Illinois (4-16, 1-6 OVC) snapped a 12-game losing streak on Saturday, picking up a 77-67 road victory at Austin Peay. The Panthers shot 54.2 percent in the first half and never looked back - leading for the final 37:20 of the contest. Josh Piper registered a game-high 20 points, while Sherman Blanford recorded his first career double-double (19 points and 10 rebounds). Taylor Jones also added 14 points for Eastern Illinois, who led by as many as 21 points in the second half.
