EQUESTRIAN TEAM WINS THREE MOPs, DEFEATS MIAMI OF OHIO

MARTIN, Tenn. – The University of Tennessee at Martin women’s equestrian team posted a 14-6 victory over visiting Miami of Ohio Friday at the Ned McWherter Agricultural Pavilion. En route to the victory, UT Martin picked up three of the four Most Outstanding Performances (MOP).
Hunter Ralston won the MOP in Equitation, while Candice Fulcher earned the MOP in Horsemanship and Katherine Gorsuch claimed the MOP in Reining.
UT Martin won the Hunt Seat completion 6-4. The Skyhawks won the Equitation 4-1, but lost Equitation over Fences 3-2.
In Equitation, UT Martin riders Mykaela VanSelus, Kara Bergenty, Reid Rickett and Ralston scored points. Ralston and Rickett also scored in Equitation over Fences.
The Skyhawks dominated the Western competition, winning the Horsemanship, 4-1, and the Reining by the same 4-1 score.
Fulcher, Michelle Chulock, Laurel Ellzey and Amy Guenther scored for UT Martin in the Horsemanship competition.
Fulcher, Chulock, Guenther and Gorsuch scored in the Reining.
UT Martin returns to action Nov. 17 when it competes in Hunter Seat against visiting Sewanee.
