MARTIN, Tenn. – The University of Tennessee at Martin soccer team will be set up outside the Skyhawk Cafeteria from 11 a.m. through 2 p.m. today (Sept. 18), Wednesday (Sept. 19) and Thursday (Sept. 20) to help benefit one of our fellow members of the Ohio Valley Conference family.
Meg Herndon, a senior defender on the Southeast Missouri Redhawks, was injured in a vehicular accident on Sept. 9 and is currently in an Intensive Care Unit. For the next three days, the Skyhawk soccer team will accept donations at the cafeteria and will present Southeast Missouri coach Heather Nelson a check before Friday’s match in Cape Girardeau, Mo.
“We ask that everybody help pitch in what they can to help out in this time of need,” UT Martin head coach Phil McNamara said. “100 percent of the proceeds that we raise will go towards Meg’s hospital bills.”
For Skyhawk fans who cannot make it out to the cafeteria but would like to donate, visit the links above.
