BARREL RACERS AMONG TOP 20 IN NATION AFTER FIRST GO AT CNFR IN WYOMING

MARTIN, Tenn. - After the first go of the barrel racing at the College National Finals Rodeo at the Casper (Wyo.) Special Events Center, Molly Alexander and Heather Moore from The University of Tennessee at Martin turned in times among the top 20 in the nation.
Alexander turned in a time of 14.80 to finish 15th in the nation, while Moore turned in a run of 14.84. She is currently 19th in the nation.
Both the UT Martin women's and men's teams are vying for national titles at the CNFR. The UT Martin men's team is currently 15th in the nation.
The CNFR, which continues through Saturday, June 19, is the "Rose Bowl" of college rodeo. It is where the National Intercollegiate Rodeo Association crowns individual event champions in saddle bronc riding, bare back riding, bull riding, tie-down roping, steer wrestling, team roping, barrel racing, breakaway roping, and goat tying. National team championships are also awarded to both men's and women's teams. Over 400 cowboys and cowgirls from over 100 universities and colleges compete in Casper each year.
