MARTIN, Tenn. - The University of Tennessee at Martin is set to host the 2010 Ohio Valley Conference Softball Tournament at Bettye Giles Field, May 13-15. The Skyhawks earned the right to defend their OVC Tournament crown from last year on their home field after securing the first conference regular season title in program history with a record of 22-3 in league play and a 45-9 overall mark.

As the OVC regular season champions, the Skyhawks also earned the No. 1 overall seed in the tournament, giving them along with No. 2 seeded Jacksonville State, byes into the second round. Morehead State, who the Skyhawks swept on the road in the final conference series last weekend, enters the tournament as the third seed followed by Eastern Illinois, Murray State and Tennessee Tech.

Tournament action is set to begin on Thursday with the first game getting under way at 11 a.m. Admission to all games of the 2010 OVC Tournament will be free and the entire tournament will be available for viewing on OVCSports.TV.
