MARTIN, Tenn. – The University of Tennessee at Martin baseball team is ready to ramp Ohio Valley Conference play back up as it welcomes SIUE to Skyhawk Field.

First pitch on Friday, April 20 is scheduled for 6 p.m. A doubleheader will be played on Saturday beginning at 2 p.m. due to expected rain on Sunday.

UT Martin is led by the hot bat of Jordan Stoner (.353 batting average, .441 on base percentage and .532 slugging percentage). He has stolen a squad-best nine bases and tallied a pair of triples on the season. The outfielder currently boasts a 14-game reached base streak while also tallying a total of 15 multiple hit games on the year. In conference play, Stoner ranks in the top-10 in a total of five categories by ranking first in triples (two), fifth in batting average (.412), fifth in total bases (47), seventh in slugging percentage (.691) and eighth in total hits (28).

Ethan Whitley is coming off of a night to remember as the freshman belted a pair of home runs against Union. Carson Shrode also hit a long ball in the matchup. Both Whitley and Shrode have tallied the most home runs on the team with eight and seven, respectively.

Left handed pitcher Dom Bazzani (1-3, 10.38 ERA) will toe the rubber in the Friday matchup. Righty Winston Cannon (0-6, 10.12 ERA) looks to get the start in Game 1 of the Saturday doubleheader while southpaw Sam Folks (1-4, 9.20 ERA) will take the mound in Game 2.

The Skyhawk bullpen features the likes of right handed pitcher David Hussey (0-0, 5.40 ERA) who has made the most appearances (14) on the season while ringing up 23 batters in 21.2 innings pitched. Lefty Konnor Aherin (2-2, 6.50 ERA) leads the squad in victories (two) and saves (one) in his 12 appearances. Righty Peyton Cain (0-4, 6.81 ERA) has provided valuable innings in relief for UT Martin.

SIUE is led by Brock Weimer (.286 batting average, five home runs and 27 RBIs). Aaron Goecks comes in second on the squad in scoring as he has pushed 23 runs across the plate to go along with four home runs. Jared McCunn (.280 batting average, three home runs and 15 RBIs) is the only Cougar to have played in every game so far this season.

The SIUE rotation will feature lefty Ryan Byrd (0-6, 8.85 ERA) on Friday. Right handed pitcher Kenny Serwa (2-3, 4.71 ERA) is slated to start in the first game of the doubleheader with southpaw David Llorens (0-3, 4.60 ERA) getting the starting nod in the finale.
