BLUE DISPATCHES ORANGE IN UT MARTIN MEN'S BASKETBALL INTERSQUAD GAME, 49-31

MARTIN, Tenn. – All 13 University of Tennessee at Martin men’s basketball players scored this evening as the Blue squad never trailed in a 49-31 victory over the Orange team in an intersquad scrimmage at the Kathleen and Tom Elam Center.
Tonight marked the only preseason action for the Skyhawk men’s basketball squad, as the two teams battled for two 14-minute halves.
Blue was led by Matthew Butler, who scored a team-high 12 points. Darius Thompson contributed 11 points and a game-high five assists while Mike Fofana snared a game-high nine rebounds. Terrence Parker added eight points on a perfect 4-of-4 shooting effort for the Blue team, who shot 57.1 percent (20-for-35) from the floor.
Kahari Beaufort tallied a team-best seven points for Orange, who boasted a balanced scoring attack as five players accounted for at least five points. Dominique Williams posted six points to go along with a team-best six rebounds for an Orange squad that secured eight steals as part of its nine forced turnovers.
Head coach Anthony Stewart and the Skyhawks officially open the 2017-18 campaign this Friday, Nov. 10 at Marshall. Tipoff from the Cam Henderson Center in Huntington, W.Va. is set for 7 p.m. CST.
