Alecia Weatherly

Alecia Weatherly begins her fourth season as a member of the UT Martin women’s basketball staff, after transitioning roles from a graduate assistant into an assistant position in prior to the 2013-14 season. Her responsibilities include film exchange, travel arrangements, recruiting and general day-to-day operations of the program as well as conditioning and working on the floor with the forwards.

Weatherly attended UT Martin and was a member of the Skyhawk women’s basketball team. She led the Skyhawks to their first Ohio Valley Conference Tournament title and the NCAA Tournament in 2011. The Perry County native scored 578 career points and a career-high 25 points against Austin Peay on Feb. 4, 2010.She started in 26 of 27 games in 2010-11.. She cracked double-figures in scoring nine times and led the team in rebounding five times. Her best game of the season came against Tennessee Tech on Feb. 12 where she scored 23 points, and was 6-of-9 from 3-point range.

She was named to the OVC All-Newcomer team her junior season after being selected the league’s Newcomer of the Week nine times in the season.

Before her days at UT Martin, Weatherly attended Perry County High School where she helped the Lady Vikings to a district crown in 2004 and a pair of district runner-up finishes. She helped lead Perry County to the 2004 state tournament. She was a two-time all-state selection and she was named the 2006 Class A Miss Basketball recipient.

Weatherly recently graduated in May 2013 with a master’s degree in family and consumer science.
