2015: Appeared in 24 games out of the circle for the Skyhawks, including eight starts...She posted a 5-3 overall record along with one save and a 3.28 ERA...She tossed 72.2 innings of work, allowing 90 hits, 34 earned runs and 31 walks while striking out 57...She tossed five complete games against Alcorn State (Feb. 7), UT Arlington (March 7), Tennessee State (April 4) and Eastern Kentucky (April 18)...Posted a shutout against Alcorn State (Feb. 7), allowing just one hit while striking out seven in five innings of work...Struck out seven batters in three outings against Alcorn State (Feb. 7), Memphis (April 15) and Eastern Kentucky (April 18)...Notched 12 scoreless outings...Earned a save against Texas Tech (March 6), allowing just one hit in two scoreless innings.
2014: Kennedy appeared in 22 games for the Skyhawks, seeing her play split primarily between a spot in the rotation along with a stint as the team’s closer...She posted a dominating freshman campaign, recording a 1.96 earned run average while tossing 57 innings inside the circle en route a 6-3 record and three saves...She allowed just 19 runs total on the season while giving up just 16 earned runs. She managed 53 strikeouts and just 24 walks while allowing only 47 hits...Her breakout performance came against Western Carolina in a game which she posted a complete game shutout while allowing just two base hits and striking out nine...She held her opponent scoreless in 13 appearances...She also tallied five plate appearances...Earned a spot on the OVC Commissioner’s Honor Roll.
High School: Attended Riverside High School where she prepped for head coach Mike Box... Helped the Lady Panthers to a state softball championship in 2011 and a runner up finish in 2012 ... Kennedy was named Class 1A Miss Softball along with being tabbed as West Tennessee Player of the Year ... She was an All-West Tennessee selection as a freshman, junior and senior while securing first-team all-state player honors three times.
Personal: Born on Oct. 26, 1994 ... Daughter of Mark and Terri Kennedy ... Has two sisters, Stephanie Southall and Joanna Kennedy ... Majoring in health and human performance ... Aspires to become an occupational therapist and work at St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital ... Enjoys working in the community by volunteering her time with disabled and children and coaching youth softball.
