BEFORE UTM: Developed into a team leader on one of Missouri’s best teams the last two seasons…Under head coach Josh Martin, the Hawks posted a 45-9 record during McLaughlin’s junior and senior years…In 21 games as a senior, McLaughlin averaged 11.6 points, 7.6 rebounds, 2.2 assists, 1.2 steals and 1.4 blocks per contest…Shot 51 percent from the floor (92-for-182) and displayed a nice shooting touch from the perimeter (38 percent from 3-point range)…The Hawks went 19-7 and won 11 straight games in January, eventually finishing second in the Suburban North division…Ben Weixlmann from Scout.com named McLaughlin a “Player to Watch” after evaluating the Midwest Showdown Shootout…Weixlmann described McLaughlin as an “athletic freak” whose “competitive fire and swift ability to attack offensively from 15 feet will make him an attractive option at the next level.”…During McLaughlin’s junior season, Hazelwood Central went 26-2, reeling off winning streaks of 14 and 12 games apiece…Was a big factor in the team’s success, averaging 10.5 points and a team-best 6.8 rebounds per outing, while shooting 56 percent (128-of-229) from the field…Best game as a junior was a 23-point, 16-rebound effort (both season-highs) against Jefferson City on Dec. 17, 2010…Also tallied 23 points against DeSoto on Jan. 12, 2011 and grabbed 10 or more rebounds in six different games.
