2013: Was one of only three Skyhawks to play in all 123 sets…Paced the squad with 545 digs (4.43 per set, fifth-best in the OVC), becoming just the third player in program history to rack up more than 500 digs in a single season…Recorded double-digit digs in 29 matches, including 11 matches of 20-plus digs…Eclipsed the 30-dig plateau in two matches, including a career-best 33 digs in a 3-2 OVC win over Southeast Missouri on Oct. 1…Was named the Most Valuable Player of the Bradley CEFCU Classic and a spot on the all-tournament team…Won back-to-back adidas OVC Defensive Player of the Week honors (Sept. 2 and Sept. 9)…Also added 83 assists (second on the team) and 16 service aces.
2012: Made an immediate impact, leading the team in sets played (115) as a freshman…Tallied 242 digs (2.10 per set), which ranked second on the team…Had eight matches of double-digit digs, including a season-high 28 in four sets against Jackson State on Sept. 14…Five of double-figure dig performances came against Ohio Valley Conference competition…Also added 38 assists, nine service aces and four kills…Was named to the OVC Commissioner’s Honor Roll.
BEFORE UTM: Was named an AAU All-American after leading the Asics KIVA 18 Red squad to a 9-2 record in the prestigious 39th AAU Girls’ Junior National Volleyball Championships in Orlando, Fla. in June 2012…Established herself as a top player on one of the best teams in the nation last season…Under longtime head coach Ron Kordes, Assumption finished the season with a 43-1 record, and national No. 3 rank in ESPN’s Powerade Fab 50…The Rockets won their first 16 and last 27 matches of the season, culminating with their second state title in a row and 16th in the past 20 years. Assumption emerged as victors in three prestigious tournaments – the Burris Invitational in Muncie, Ind., the Durango Classic in Las Vegas, and the Asics Challenge in Chicago…The core of the Rocket defense, Bowles was named by ESPN’s Kirstin Olsen as one of the top-10 players in the Asics Challenge in October 2011…Tallied nine digs in the state championship over Greenwood, capping off an all-tournament team berth…Also was named all-state honorable mention by the Kentucky Volleyball Coaches Association (KVCA) and an All-Catholic first teamer by Louisville Catholic Sports.
